Lowry's view of the Indian Arm

These three photos were taken with a Kodak panoramic camera from the where Malcolm Lowry's beloved dock met the shore of the Indian Arm of the Burrard Inlet.

The Shell Oil refinery is located to the south of this spot on the far shore. The "S" in the sign burned out revealing the ominous message - "hell." If you think you're being pursued by furies, this can have a great effect on your pysche.

This is the view facing directly across from the Lowry shack. Orca, or Killer Whales, are occassionally spotted in these waters.

The tiny village of Dollarton is a five-minute walk north of this site.
